How a listing earns "verified"

The short answer

A listing shows verified ✓ only when its details have been confirmed against a source we trust — an official registry, a public map record maintained by real people, the business's own website, or the owner personally claiming the listing by email. A listing we could not confirm stays unbadged or unpublished. We would rather show fewer businesses than wrong ones.

What counts as a source

  OpenStreetMap & WikidataPublic map data maintained by human mappers, used with attribution.
• 🌐
  The business itselfA working website, phone or address we checked directly.

  The ownerClaiming a listing (free) confirms it from the source that knows best. Owner-confirmed details override everything else.

What we deliberately do not do: copy other directories. Data from closed platforms is neither storable nor checkable, so it never enters Desi.Net.

Is verification paid? No. Verification is about accuracy, never money. Claiming a listing is free, and paid features never change a listing's facts or its badge.
